Sunday 25 August

Dry morning and we were on our own - we tend to drift from place to place, checking out spots we have missed during the week.

 Common Hemp Nettle - Galeopsis tetrahit
 Heron on the Top Lodge, there were five in total - easy pickings as the lodge is draining for the winter birds.
 Red Underwing Forewing, this was among the leaf litter I had it ID as I was fooled by the black & white markings on what I thought was the top of the forewing, the photo below is the top and it is only a quarter of it so quite a big moth.
The top looks bland but camouflage helps it survive.
