Friday 13 February

Just on freezing this morning, there did not seem to be a ground frost last night.

It was slippy in parts not because of ice, the ground was muddy, especially at the slippery log.

We met Dawnie at the bridge on her way to Primrose Hill. We passed two fishermen on the river and they were still there on our return.

The Hazel male catkins are out no sign of the tiny female flowers yet.
Horse Chestnut - one of the most popular and easily identified trees, the buds are sticky, it has flowers that resemble candles and of course the fruit is the conker - we all know the game and have surely climb many a tree after that prized winner.
The Nuthatch is not as timid.
Take Care.
