Thursday 27 January

Just above freezing - we had a look on the Barrow

Rhododendron roots up and waiting for burning, I am still at a loss as to who is having this work done and why they are also dragging out old fallen trees and burning them, these are usually left for animals and insects.

The work seems to be only in the area of the Barrow field but has gone into Burgh Wood, the Touch Me Not Balsam is in this area and I am hoping they do not go any deeper into the wood.

The workman are pleasant and have done a good job in clearing the roots with the help of the tractor.

The Pair of Swans Billy & Edwina are chasing Lucy off the Top Lodge.

She has gone over to the Big Lodge, no sign of Tommy Swan, I spoke to one of the regular dog walkers and they said Billy was chasing him up towards the Lower Burgh yesterday.
Looks like we are not going to get a new bloodline in the Valley.

Take Care.

  1. What I want to know is how you can tell the swans apart.
