Monday 29 April

Dry & mild this morning.

Blackthorn - Prunus spinosa, plenty of flowers so we may get a bumper crop of sloes.
Cowslip - Primula veris - another of our native wild flowers

Take Care

  1. Very interesting! Is that what sloe gin is made from? Here the cowslip is the marsh marigold!

  2. Hi Joan, yes it is Sloe Gin but the sloes have to be frosted first for the best results, so the birds get most. Last year was a poor year, not many on the trees.
