After dinner out we called at Chorley Cemetery

The new ponds have come on a treat
Arrowhead  - Sagittaria sagittifolia
Flowering Rush - Butomus umbellatus
Greater Spearwort - Ranunculus lingua
 Purple Loosestrife - Lythrum salicaria
Water Mint - Mentha aquatica

  1. I don't know the spearwort. Here the lythrum is a totally invasive horrible, horrible plant despite how pretty it is. In about 4 years it will take over a pond and you need dynamite to get it out. I participated in a study to bring over the bugs that eat it. It helped a lot, but they are not widespread yet.
