Friday 8 November

Damp morning perfect for fungi

up in Burgh Wood lots about
the Coral Spot - Nectria cinnabarina is all over
Great Tit came for his breakfast
Stinkhorn - Phallus impudicus is looking ready to erupt - there may be more about, we will be searching the area soon.
These also have the nickname of Witch's Egg - I must agree the first I saw of these I thought it was some sort of egg :)

Take Care

  1. I haven't seen the stinkhorn erupting like that. Always seem to find it at the mature stage. Very interesting to see other than a diagram in a book.
