Friday 2nd January

Another good morning had a good walk & talk.

On the way back home I fed the birds and tried for a small movie, it was small.

The Robin & Great Tit came for breakfast there would have been more but I was disturbed by two dog walkers - I know we are dog walkers but they seemed worried by Meg's muzzle, not logical to me - she wears it to prevent her eating not very nice things, yet if she was a biter or fighter surely she is the one with the muzzle on and as she is the one at a disadvantage to other possible nasty dogs or people shouldn't I be the one that is worried ?

Thursday 13 February

Dry and the wind has brought a lot of old branches down. Weather has forecast more wind & rain.

 This is behind the Top Lodge, the cottages would have been behind me and I think the forge stood beyond the old fence.

 Male Blackbird- he has a damaged or deformed wing so we know him quite well, he has no problem flying and fighting his corner, we think he has been like this from birth as he copes so well.

Damp morning perfect for fungi

up in Burgh Wood lots about 

 the Coral Spot - Nectria cinnabarina is all over

Great Tit came for his breakfast

 Stinkhorn - Phallus impudicus is looking ready to erupt - there may be more about, we will be searching the area soon.

These also have the nickname of Witch's Egg - I must agree the first I saw of these I thought it was some sort of egg :)

Very mild this morning, plenty of birds about.

Nuthatch was busy he came down a few times

Well I could not count how many Charlie Robins came at one point at least 6 - then the fighting and chasing starts and the other birds get the food while - yes that's right Charlie and his fellow Robins get none :)

Here he is almost saying "oh no all gone again."

He is a pain but what can we do - This Wood Pigeon now has a name "Percy Pigeon" He just waits till I move and he devours everything on the post in seconds.
