Wednesday 26 May

I was on my own this morning, another parcel coming.

It was mild and I just drifted among the woods and paths.

Chicken of the Wood - this has been on this stump before strange how it has missed a couple seasons, I would not pick it but it is edible.

Bramble - Rubus fruticosus - plenty of buds so we may get plenty of fruit for those pies.

Broad Leaved Willowherb - Epilobium montanum - this was the only one I saw in flower but it will make up for it.

Broom - Cytisus scoparius - from a distance looks like gorse but it is so different yet they both belong to the pea family, Broom does not flower most of the year, it's leaves are not spine like as in the gorse.

Common Fleabane - Pulicaria dysenterica - won't be long before this is in flower.

Path with a carpet of Goat Willow seeds.

Japanese Rose - Rosa rugosa - this is a garden throw out, it is just in the park, it is an attractive rose but tends to go wild in the garden, great for part of an hedge.

Russian Comfrey - Symphytum x uplandicum - lots about now.

Welsh Poppy - Meconopsis cambrica
Welsh Poppy Seed Head - Meconopsis cambrica
Meadow Foxtail - Alopecurus pratensis - ready to disperse it's pollen.

Meadow Foxtail - Alopecurus pratensis - all done and dusted.

Take Care.
