Friday 26 September

Not many photos today - we did the lodges and I learned something new

 Common Whitebeam - Sorbus aria

 Earth Ball - Scleroderma
I would have just said this was a puff ball but it isn't, it's an earth ball, to be truthful I just presumed that some people say earth and some puff, not so, they are different, I have since learned that these earth balls are poisonous enough to make you ill, puff balls are edible as long as the internal flesh is white - not that I intend eating any of them. I do enjoy looking at fungi but I turn to them when flowers are becoming scarce, mainly for the photos.

A bit more progress on the Wheatsheaf
