No rain this morning

 Coot trying to nest build we passed on our way back and no sign of any activity

Put this up for ID and had a few names thrown in the hat but we seem to be settled on Lichen - Cladonia coniocraea for the moment - I haven't a clue but I will let you know if there is a shift in thought.

 I counted 30 Coots on the Big Lodge this morning, never known so many but as the breeding season progresses some will move on.

Eight male Tufted and two female this morning - I was intrigued by their non interest in the fed but I have realized they stay clear of the feeding area and as soon as the feed starts to sink they dive and swim under water and out again to fed, when the water is clear we see them under the other ducks and swans.
