Saturday 11 July

Had a good walk in sunshine.

The only wildlife we managed to see was a dead shrew - we wondered about this as we regularly find them along with moles, the only thing you notice about them is they all have blood around the nose and mouth, we have all speculated as to why the shrew & mole are found this way and our conclusions are breeding season (males fighting) and young in territorial fights. Just our thoughts on it. Would like to know more about these secretive little animals.

Perennial Sow Thistle

This was wandering on the path - Violet Ground Beetle over an inch long.
