Another sunny walk - I have to show off our beautiful swan family, Edwina was on the water with them, she is a good mother.

 They are already taking the sunflower hearts

We always feed sunflower hearts they are packed with goodness for the little ones and when they fledge and go we can usually tell the ones that were born on the lodges if they return - they take the hearts straight away, others are waiting for bread and ignore the feed.

We heard this youngster before we finally saw it, the parent bird was on the lodge edge collecting food for it. This is the nearest we have been to the Wagtails

Dry again

 Coot with a new darvic ring, colour coded ones have been used up till recently but the allotted number has been used so we have new leg ware and I am happy to say they are easier to read.

This one was ringed as an adult on the 21/09/2011 at Redesmere Lake, Cheshire, 52km to our lodge, all info from the ringers
