Friday 1 May

We walked Duxbury Woods and decided to have a look through the Duxbury Hall Gardens, the hall was demolished years ago the stable block, cruck barn & coach house are all that remain, they have all been well maintained and contain businesses - the Golf club being the main one.

A good walk down the Yarrow Valley

Tuesday 3 March

A beautiful chilly morning, we hardly noticed the cold as the sun was lighting & warming the valley, birds of all description were out singing and preparing for the promise of spring and new life.

 Even Billy & Edwina Swan 

 This was soon followed by a relentless pursuit of the youngster

One of the many paths on the rucks, I am sure if this was ever dug all you would uncover would be the slag & spoils from the pits.

We had a bit of frost over night but the sun was out this morning and it was a beautiful day.

Just below freezing again

Noticed that Garden Privet  - Ligustrum ovalifolium still had a few berries left.

Monday 2 February

The temperature has dropped overnight and the lodges are freezing again

 Ducks are gathering in small pockets of ice free water for feeding

Not a one at this end, at least the Swans are all calm for the moment
