Sunday 2 August

Nice morning for a walk, we found Dawnie on Sunny Brow, we had a good time looking for plants and anything else of interest. We have noticed that the oaks seem to be having a bad time with galls - the trees look tatty, fortunately they usually recover.
Plenty of these Artichoke galls on the oaks this year.
Could not resist the colour of this Curled Dock.
That stray Meadow Foam has made it self at home.
Meadow Vetchling.
Scentless Mayweed
Sneezewort
Teasel
Plenty of White Lipped Banded Snails.
The Weir was out of action this morning - looks like a board has either been removed or broken, all the water is cascading down the fish ladder.
Doesn't it look bleak, hope it is soon back in action.

Saturday 25 July

Dry morning plenty of folk about.
Up to the Barrow - not a lot happened in a week, still got us wondering how it all works.
Wood Dock
Broad Leaved Dock Fruit
Tiny little fungi on an old gate post.
Meadow Foam still surviving.

8 July 2009

Dry morning for our walk, plenty of activity among the flowers.
Comma Butterfly on the Creeping Thistle.
Another photo of the flowers on the Garden Privet.
Rosebay Willowherb up by Spring Wood if you look closely you can just see Harvey disappearing along the path by the side of it.
Meadow Foam (Poached Egg Plant) an escapee near the new gate on Birkacre Brow.
Seven Spot Ladybird
Tormentil on the Rucks.

Tern Raft and there is a new babe on it - we did not see it as we passed but it was seen earlier by Neil.

Now that is wonderful news.
