Friday 13 June

Glorious morning and we were orchid hunting, we soon found our first photo, not the rarest but becoming so in our valley due to constant upheaval. I had 8 pin pointed on gps no sign of them, so moved on to fresh areas and we found some, all the rest were a wonderful bonus

 Common Spotted Orchid - Dactylorhiza fuchsii

 Marsh Thistle - Cirsium palustre

 Pyramidal Orchid - Anacamptis pyramidalis

 Rough Hawkbit - Leontodon hispidus

 Tufted Vetch - Vicia cracca

White Campion - Silene latifolia

Lovely morning on the Lower Burgh Meadow

 Sphaerophoria the experts can't get it any nearer from a photo but say it's female. To me it's a hoverfly.

Sunny morning and we ended up on the Lower Burgh Meadow.

But as we were setting off four Hot Air Balloons passed over the house - they looked beautiful against the clear sky.

Wednesday 29 June

Dry morning for our walk over the Lower Burgh Meadow, it was alive with colour.

Agrimony - Agrimonia eupatoria
Bee Orchid - Ophrys apifera  - Managed to find another plant but the one with buds on has vanished completely, hope it has just been eaten by slugs.

Not really a fly person but these just made me look twice - all sun bathing in the same direction and angle.
