Thursday 15 November

Dry & Mild

The Ramblers are gathering
On our way
Dipper at the weir
We worry if Charlie Robin doesn't show
Look what else turned up on the path, one very large Saddleback Pig - we knew she was about, yes the smell and the destruction they cause grubbing for roots - she was very friendly but determined not to move or go any where she did not want to, we did not argue with her :)

To show how that snout can rip the ground up

Friday 2 November

Damp Morning

Now this was a rarity Toots who belongs to Sue giving me the chance to photograph her - so I seized the moment.

Weir with a slow shutter speed - or milky water as we call it.
Stinkhorn - we found one last year but the slugs had been at it. This is the first one we have seen in tact.
This photo was taken just 24 hours later the flies have taken the green cap to spread the spores - so hopefully we will see more next year.

Take Care.

Damp morning we met up with Sue & the tribe plus one

Toots was still for a moment so I managed a photo of the will o'th wisp.
Oh no Billy says what with Toots bossing me now I've got Sally.
And here she is Will o'th wisp number 2 Sally - Sue's son's dog she's a collie x springer spaniel so a real live wire.
Dolly saying did some one say sausages?
Teddy always the gentleman.

Thursday 20 January

Really cold this morning - well below freezing.

Harvey & Jake were out with Debbie. Harvey is still on the invalid list with his leg, he ruptured his cruciate ligament a few months ago, he had it operated on and is still on light exercise.
The dogs love this cold weather, even Dolly was having a run round.

Just look how cold it was, Billy has frosty ears.

Frost is clinging to Toots.

Total loyalty.

George with Tinker waiting for us.

Sunday 2 January

Just above freezing this morning.

I am behind again due to other commitments - so it will be less blogging for the time being.
I shall try to put the photos on as they are my record of our daily sightings.

Morning sky over Duxbury.

The two lights to the right are on Woodcock's Farm.

Meg in hunting mode, looking for field voles.

Teddy, Toots and Billy getting their orders.

Teddy now passing on his instructions.

A popular field for the deer.

The next four are all round the slippery log - seen a lot of the fox in this area.

Mole hills appearing.

Top Lodge from the back field

Top lodge Reed Beds.
Holly - Ilex aquifolium

Rhododendron - Rhododendron ponticum - some of the buds are withered due to the frosts, I know they are invasive but we do need some for the wildlife to shelter in. Some areas are so bare the deer stand out like sore thumbs.

Track at the back of the top lodge

Still my favourite view, I am going to try and get a monthly photo taken from the same spot and probably have a post of them.

Down to the table.

Not a good photo of the Coal Tit but it is so fast.

Nuthatch

and no blog would be complete with out Charlie Robin.

Take Care.
