Friday 30 January

Back to the light dusting of snow - it's just nuisance value, worse than a good covering.

I noticed the Blue Tit hanging around my camera nestbox, this has happened for the last two years it's been up, they have never used it for nesting only roosting, maybe this year :) I live in hope.

Friday 7 November

Damp & mild plenty of birds and people about

 Blue Tit

 Female Chaffinch

Two male Chaffinch one seems to have (I am no expert) what I think is Bumble Foot, most articles I have read on this states the birds seem to cope and appear healthy other than the growth.

The very trusting Squirrel is still coming

among the the others - there are two Crows, another Magpie just out of view and the Wood Pigeon plus lots of small birds.

Monday 22 September

Lovely morning for our walk, the sun was doing it's best to break through.

 View of the Big Lodge

 Blue Tit

 Nuthatch

Tern Raft now taken over by the gulls & resident birds, till next year.

Not much water coming over the Weir - the Fish Ladder looks better and it won't be long before we see the fish making their way up stream.

Wednesday 1 January

Happy New Year to Everyone

Did not see many people about this morning.

We walked down Burgh Lane South not one we do a lot now as we can't access the pond field.
This was in the field and my first thought was who would be camping out under a piece of  tarpaulin, in a muddy field.
I should have known as it is now the pig field, all the piglets came out of the tent, I felt sorry for them and I am glad the weather is not too bad. Not much of a life for them.

Tuesday 24 December

Another damp day, we have to be thankful we have not got the weather some of the country is having.

 Blue Tit
 Christmas Tree
 Deer track
 Dipper
Tree that's for the axe in the New Year
it is dangerous so will have to be cut, it won't be an easy job as it is in a difficult spot
One of the old Silver Birch felled
This view would be looking at Drybones Cottage several years back but it was burned down by mindless yobs, I wonder what they will feel like in years to come -
More trees felled, they are really going to town this time - let's hope it won't be many more
I don't come from this neck of the woods but I often see shadows/ghosts/memories when I look at the weir, so locals must see their kin in this area
Bing - he's truly become a handsome lad :)

Saturday 21 December

Damp, mild morning yet all the birds were waiting - some days we see lots and then next day we may only see a few, no accounting for it.
