Dry Morning

 Coot Family now only 4 chicks

 Pike found by Meg who couldn't resist the odour (it was humming) she rolled on it.

Wednesday 11 March

Still dry & above freezing, met Sue & Dawnie and we carried on over Primrose and into Spring Wood.

We did our usual route and saw very little, as we were chatting, stopped along the way to feed the birds, plenty of small birds about - the robins have paired off, all the small birds are preparing for the very busy time ahead for them.

The duck box on the top lodge is looking a little weary, I do not think it has ever been used so it won't be a loss.

Frog spawn in the channel that leads to the top lodge, it has plenty in and the frogs are still busy.

The pike that was in the big lodge has ended up in the river.

Monday 2 March

Mild & dry, with some sunshine.

A large nest in the trees between the big lodge and river, no sign of the builders.

Fungi - looked like mini Turkey Tail.
Pike about 18 inches long, not the biggest one from the big lodge but it was a good size.

A very rare photo - some of the ramblers wondering why I had shouted them, just wanted to take a photo.

I have been looking at the photos and reports on the http://www.chorleynats.org.uk/ site of the Ravens nest building on the church tower.

We went into town so we had a walk to the Church, no sign of any ravens but I got the nest.

Also found daisy in flower I liked the effect of the crocus planted in the shape of the cross.The gardens are being prepared for spring, but they have not reached this part, Common Whitlow Grass. In Flower.
