Tuesday 10 February

Mild morning the lodges are clear of ice.
It was peaceful this morning plenty of small birds around the feeders.

I could have stayed and watched all day

Monday 9 February

Damp & Mild

 Coot showing off it's toes.
I counted 30 Coots on the Big Lodge this morning, never known so many but as the breeding season progresses some will move on.

Eight male Tufted and two female this morning - I was intrigued by their non interest in the fed but I have realized they stay clear of the feeding area and as soon as the feed starts to sink they dive and swim under water and out again to fed, when the water is clear we see them under the other ducks and swans.

Friday 19 December

Damp morning after a night of rain, we did not get wet.

Still a bit of Autumn colour left on the trees

Sue's dogs enjoying the walk

Billy Swan - he's already had a good handful of mixed corn feed yet he follows us just in case we have more and today he managed to get some sunflower hearts, I do have a soft spot for him as he clung on to living on the lodge with his father chasing him off, he would not go we called him Billy no mates, when his father died he was top swan.
He is just like his father, big and strong, no incomers for his lodge

Canada Geese are coming back to feed

More decorations added to the tree
