Friday 19 December

Damp morning after a night of rain, we did not get wet.

Still a bit of Autumn colour left on the trees

Sue's dogs enjoying the walk

Billy Swan - he's already had a good handful of mixed corn feed yet he follows us just in case we have more and today he managed to get some sunflower hearts, I do have a soft spot for him as he clung on to living on the lodge with his father chasing him off, he would not go we called him Billy no mates, when his father died he was top swan.
He is just like his father, big and strong, no incomers for his lodge

Canada Geese are coming back to feed

More decorations added to the tree

Saturday 13 December

Frost this morning after all the rain, we did our walk calling at the tree

Father Christmas looked very seasonal

These are all taken around Primrose Hill

What a difference a day makes Slippery Log back to normal
I am stood on Slippery Log (or would have been had it still been here) looking at Primrose Field

Thursday 11 December

The weather overnight was bad, windy and sleety hail stones so we visited the tree to see if there had been any casualty's, Sue had already called and tidied the tree up, the wind had blown a few off.

Still looking good but needs some more visitors

The play area has gained another bit of play equipment.

Tuesday 9 December

The sky was on fire, we ignored the warning red sky in the morning thankfully it did not rain.

We had to admire the colours every day is so different

We got to the Christmas Tree still only 4 decorations so we set to work with ours and the remnants that were left on last year, I always try to clear the tree after I think everyone has taken their decorations off - it took us about an hour to get them on - the tree has grown over the years and we have to use our sticks to reach the taller branches.

Sunday 7 December

Mild this morning

We walked to the Christmas Tree it had 4 decorations on it, I was going to put ours on but when we set out it was raining and I did not want to be hanging decorations in the rain.

Sue found the deer track

This is the stream that runs through Spring Wood it goes into the Top Lodge (thankfully) helping to keep the water level and fill it when it is needed, this is the area we call slippery log as it was always crossed by a fallen log - the log rotted to nothing years ago, we now have wood that appears and we manage to get across

A photo of the place we cross very muddy

Tuesday 24 December

Another damp day, we have to be thankful we have not got the weather some of the country is having.

 Blue Tit
 Christmas Tree
 Deer track
 Dipper
Tree that's for the axe in the New Year
it is dangerous so will have to be cut, it won't be an easy job as it is in a difficult spot
One of the old Silver Birch felled
This view would be looking at Drybones Cottage several years back but it was burned down by mindless yobs, I wonder what they will feel like in years to come -
More trees felled, they are really going to town this time - let's hope it won't be many more
I don't come from this neck of the woods but I often see shadows/ghosts/memories when I look at the weir, so locals must see their kin in this area
Bing - he's truly become a handsome lad :)

Monday 23 December

We have been fortunate with the weather in this area, lots of areas have had floods, plus being battered by strong winds.

Our Christmas Tree quite a few more decorations have been added.
This is the latest - when we see a new one on the tree we always wonder who? We will probably never know but it's wonderful that people can come together at Christmas and do this simple thing, yet the rest of the year do we become different people, I know we don't - here we go I am waxing maudlin again, for many years I use to sit the odd half hour in my break at work in the town centre (Bolton) watching the world go by, many kindnesses I witnessed, lots of love, old friends would join me and chat, most now passed but still fresh in my mind remembered with love. People have not changed times have.
