Tuesday 18 May

Dry again, looks like the weather is being good to us for a few days.

We did Spring Wood then the Barrow and back along the edge of Burgh Wood round into the bottom of Spring Wood, back to the Lodges.

Rhododendron - Rhododendron ponticum
Ash - Fraxinus excelsior, the leaves are out and the keys are forming.
Silver Birch - Betula pendula
Dandelion Clock
Yellow Pimpernel - Lysimachia nemorum
Common Cornsalad - Valerianella locusta

I know nothing about fish but this was in the Big Lodge and it is at least 20 inches long, is it a goldfish that has thrived in the lodge?

Take Care.

Saturday 8 May

We were almost a full compliment of walkers this morning, it was dry and sunny.

We had seen very little when Sue spotted our Dog Fox in Spring Wood, he was in no hurry.
He was sitting watching us as I got the camera, then he just strolled off - turning and looking at us to give me the chance to take his photo.

Cornsalad almost in flower.

Dry again, we had a good walk. Took lots of photos mainly flowers. Have only used a few just to show you all what you are missing - all the trees are now in leaf and some in flower.

Monday 11 May

The sun was shining but according to the weather forecast it is not going to last. We will have to make the most of it. George arrived we met Debbie and we set off.

We always feed the birds around here - we call it Charlie's field - Charlie is our very friendly robin - plus all his kin folk.

Herb Robert Dead Shrew - could not see any marks on it.
